Preschool Nutrition Activity
My Amazing Body Activity 12 - Nutrition Bonus Lesson
You will need: healthy snacks that the children can use their eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and skin to experience, such as loud crunchy vegetables or cereal, tasty, bright colored fruits, textured crackers, strong smelling onion dip (made with low-fat sour cream and dried onion soup mix, etc...)
This is a sample activity from the Healthy Start, Health Education Program for Preschoolers
Explain to the children that eating healthy foods is an important way to keep our whole bodies strong and working well. Healthy foods give our bodies the energy to keep moving. Good foods let our brains think, our hearts pump, and our lungs breathe.
Good food help our eyes to see, our ears to hear, etc...
For each snack, encourage the children to use all of their senses to explore the food.
Have each child try one of the foods and tell the class about how it looks, tastes, feels, smells, and sounds.
