Learn the Body Parts Activity

My Amazing Body Activity 1

Tell the children that we are going to learn a song about our bodies. They will need to move parts of their bodies to go along with the song. Point out the following body parts to the children: feet, legs, hips, stomach, chest, shoulders, arms, hands, neck, head, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.

Teach the song Body Parts verse by verse, using the movements suggested in the song.

  Body Parts

to the tune of The Farmer in the Dell

My feet are on my legs

My feet are on my legs

I stomp them once, I stomp them twice

My feet are on my legs

My legs are on my hips

My legs are on my hips

I shake them once, I shake them twice

My legs are on my hips

  My stomach's on my hips

I rub it once, I rub it twice

My chest is on my stomach

I pat it once, I pat it twice

My shoulders are on my chest

I shrug them once, I shrug them twice

My arms hang from my shoulders

I swing them once, I swing them twice

My hands are on my arms

I clap them once, I clap them twice

My neck is on my shoulders

I bend it once, I bend it twice

My head is on my neck

I nod it once, I nod it twice

My eyes are in my head

  Looking once, looking twice

My ears are in my head

I listen once, I listen twice

My nose is on my head

  sniffing once, sniffing twice

My mouth is on my head

  chewing once, chewing twice

Ask the children:

What are some other things you do with your hands, beside clap?

What else can you do with your mouth, beside chew?

What are some other parts of your body?
